The TF is a mid-engined sports car with double wishbone suspension and delivers on its promise to entertain. Where it fell down, however, was in terms of build quality. The cabin was a thorn in its side when new - although classic owners have tended to be more forgiving of its shortcomings.

MG TF 1500 (1953 to 1955) The TF 1500 built upon the 1250cc engine of the predecessor, the MG TF, but with bored-out cylinders displacing 1466cc - thus the 1500 badge. This XPEG engine yielded 63hp and 76 lb/ft of torque - a worthy increase over the smaller engine. The TF 1500, the last of T-Type series, was replaced by the MGA.
